When hiring a professional, you may want to know about credentials and work resume. Here’s a brief summary of some of mine:

I’m Linda Pogo, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Missouri, with a Master’s in Educational and Counseling Psychology (M.Ed.) from the University of Missouri - Columbia (1995). I’m a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) since 2010, a yoga teacher (YT200) since 2017, and a meditation teacher. I’ve practiced insight meditation with multiple teachers in committed practice classes, residential retreats, and in individual mentoring sessions. My work with you will be informed by being a fellow traveler and life-long student of others. I have traveled in the US and to other countries to participate in personal and spiritual growth workshops, retreats, seminars, trainings and healing rituals. A good, full life lived and personal loss have been my primary experiential teachers.

My work experience includes:

  • Owning a coaching, counseling and consulting private practice for over 22 years, running all aspects of a person-centered business, providing a variety of mental, physical, spiritual, and behavioral health services and training experiences.
  • Providing counseling to the employees of multiple community businesses, organizations, school systems and hospitals, as an Employee Assistance Provider (EAP) working in a hospital setting.
  • Co-facilitating an intensive outpatient cognitive behavioral therapy program (IOP-CBT), described by one graduate as a mini-mental health bootcamp. Participation was four hours a night, four nights a week and up to six weeks for each participant. Skills and tools were taught, one to one therapy was provided in a group setting and individualized experiential processes provided profound healing.
  • Serving mainly Vietnam era Veterans with PTSD in a veteran’s administration hospital, I was an inpatient therapist and group facilitator, an outpatient mental health provider, an addiction’s therapist and a compensated work therapy coordinator.
  • Living in a group home with developmentally disabled adults, I provided protective oversight, activities of daily living care and transportation
  • Fixing, calibrating and maintaining electronics equipment in the US Navy, I was an electronics technician (ET2). I served in the US and Scotland.
  • Working with animals in veterinary clinics while obtaining an Associates degree in Animal Health Technology
